The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday saluted Joginder Sharma- India’s 2007 T20 World Cup hero.
The former all-rounder is currently carrying out his duties sincerely as a police officer during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sharma gained instant stardom after he bowled the final over of the T20 World Cup final match between India and Pakistan in 2007.
Even though he conceded seven runs, he, however, did manage to get the all-important wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq and helping India to lift its maiden T20 World Cup trophy.
After retiring from professional cricket, Sharma went on to join the Haryana police force where he currently serves as a Deputy Superintendent.
Sharma, who is currently posted in Hissar, recently went viral on social media after he was seen carrying out his duties as a cop in the streets wearing a mask amidst the coronavirus crisis.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India increased to 979 on Sunday.
Out of the total 979 cases, 86 have recovered or have been discharged.
Union Minister for Home Affairs Amit Shah chaired a review meeting on preparations to fight the COVID-19 epidemic in New Delhi on Saturday.
In the meeting, Shah said that as per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is leaving no stone unturned to put in place adequate arrangements to make daily essentials accessible to common people.
The Government is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of every citizen, he added.
