The Haryana Government has announced a total lockdown for 7 days. 

The 7-day complete lockdown in Haryana will come into force from tomorrow (Monday, May 3). 

The announcement was made by Haryana Minister Anil Vij. 

“From May 3, Monday, the entire State of Haryana will be under lockdown,” Haryana Minister Anil Vij said.

Notably, the Haryana government on Friday had imposed weekend lockdown in Panchkula, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Rohtak, Karnal, Hisar, Sirsa and Fatehabad districts. 

Lockdown has been announced in Haryana to curb the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is sweeping the country. 

Haryana on Saturday registered 13,588 fresh COVID-19 infections. 

It also logged 125 COVID-19 related deaths.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had earlier asked authorities to take strict action against anyone found indulging in black marketing and hoarding of medical oxygen cylinders and other medical supplies. 

As many as 3.92 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases were logged in India on Sunday. 

Moreover, the country logged as many as 3,689 deaths on Sunday. 

The Odisha government on Sunday also announced a 14-day lockdown in the state, starting from May 5 to May 19.
