Though coronavirus cases are high in the city, the situation, however, is under control, said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday.
Speaking to the media he further said that the Delhi government has taken steps to control the deterioration in cases.
“We have introduced plasma therapy and also providing pulse oximeters to patients to help monitor their oxygen levels so that the deterioration in cases be controlled,” Kejriwal said.
Adding further he said that Delhi government has increased testing by three times and positive cases increased by around 3000 per day.
“Out of the total COVID-19 patients, approximately 45,000 people have recovered,” Kejriwal further said.
He further informed that the Delhi government has got the permission to conduct plasma therapy at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality hospital.
“After the introduction of plasma therapy in LNJP, the number of deaths has reduced to less than half as compared to earlier,” the Delhi CM added.
However, the Delhi CM made it clear that plasma therapy may be difficult to save very serious patients, but the therapy can help moderate patients by not letting their condition worsen.
“This is what we have found till now,” Kejriwal said.
