The Congress on Friday launched a mega online campaign against price rise of fuel and other essential commodities in the Country.

The Congress’ campaign – “Speak Up Against Price Rise”, was led by Rahul Gandhi, who slammed the Narendra Modi-led Central Government for ‘failing’ to control unabated price rise.

Rahul Gandhi accused the Centre of making deep holes into pockets of common man to “earn taxes”.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Centre is letting prices rise as it is theirs “revenue-earning mechanism”.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Government is pushing people into the swamp of price rise just to earn tax.

Rahul Gandhi termed price rise as a curse.

“Price rise is a curse. The central government is only pushing the people into the swamp of price rise to earn tax. Raise your voice against the destruction of the country,” Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi.

Rahul Gandhi further asked the people to take part in the campaign and express their concerns against the Government’s high taxes in fuel.

Rahul Gandhi further tweeted, “Price rise is unbearable because of the following 3 reasons: 1) Falling prices of crude oil in international market, 2) Dacoity by the Centre in the name of tax collection, 3) 2-3 businessmen benefit from such tax collection.”

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also tweeted a video message.

Shashi Tharoor said, “Every single step the Modi Government has taken has been to empty the pockets of the common citizen to fill the Sarkar’s coffers.”
