Bollywood actor and former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday.
Ajaz Khan was arrested by the NCB on Wednesday, a day after he was detained for questioning in connection with a drugs case.
Ajaz Khan’s name had cropped up during interrogation of arrested drug peddler Shadab Batata, the NCB informed.
The NCB informed that it recovered alprazolam tablets from his residence during searches in Mumbai’s Andheri and Lokhandwala areas.
Ajaz Khan is part of narcotics peddler Shadab Farooque Shaikh alias Shadab Batata’s syndicate, the NCB said.
Shadab Batata was arrested last Thursday. Over 2 kilograms of the banned mephedrone drug were recovered from his possession.
Ajaz Khan, meanwhile, has claimed that he is innocent.
“Neither was anything found from my home nor from the airport. What they got was four sleeping pills. My wife had miscarried and was in depression. She was taking those pills.” Ajaz Khan claimed.
The NCB, meanwhile, has maintained that Ajaz Khan is a part of Shadab Batata’s syndicate.
“The 4.5 grams of Alprozol tablets were recovered by chance during his house search but he is mainly arrested for his association with Batata Gang,” NCB official said.

This is not the first time that Khan got involved in a drug-related case. Back in 2018, he was arrested by the Thane Anti-Narcotic Cell for possessing drugs.
In July 2019, he was arrested by the cybercrime police for creating and uploading objectionable videos.
Last year in April, he was arrested for indulging in defamation, hate speech, and violating prohibitory orders.
As per the latest reports, once Khan’s medical examination is over, he will be produced before a court in Mumbai for remand.
