As many as 29 homes belonging to Hindu families were set on fire by assailants in Bangladesh, media reports claimed.
The houses were set on fire by assailants over an alleged “blasphemous social media post”.
The Hindu community in Bangladesh, which is a minority in the country, have been protesting the incidents of attacks on temples and vandalism of Durga Puja pandals last week.
The incident of arson took place late on Sunday night at Rangpur district of Bangladesh, which is about 250 kilometres from Dhaka, the bdnews24.com reported.

The fire service received a report of the inferno at around 8:30 pm on Sunday and was finally doused at around 4:10 am on Monday.
Meanwhile, no reports of causality have been reported in the incident thus far.
Communal tensions have been on the rise in Bangladesh after workers of the radical Islamist group – Jamaat-e-Islami allegedly vandalised Durga puja pandals at several locations across the country last week.

The puja pandals were allegedly attacked by the JEI workers over the alleged desecration of the Quran in Cumilla, southeast of Dhaka.
On Friday, an unruly mob also vandalised the ISKCON temple at Noakhali and attacked its devotees in which one devotee was killed.
