The Income Tax (IT) department is reportedly conducting raids at properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actor Taapsee Pannu in Mumbai over alleged tax evasion.
Income Tax Department has conducted searches at residences of actress Taapsee Pannu and director/producer Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl.
Residence of producer Madhu Mantena was also searched.
The IT searches are in connection with Kashyap’s Phantom Films, which was dissolved in 2018.
As many as 22 locations are being raided by the IT-department, including Kwan talent management agency.
Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu have often spoken out on various national issues.

Taapsee Pannu has been a vocal supporter of farmers’ protest.
On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap had been vocal condemning the violence against anti-Citizenship Act protesters in 2019.
