An all-out war with Russia is “a possibility”. 

Russia This was stated by Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy. 

“It’s (war with Russia) the worst thing that could happen, but unfortunately there is that possibility,” said Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy. 

Zelenskiy, however, said that to avoid a war with Russia, he would need to sit in a substantive meeting with the Russian president Vladimir Putin. 

The present conflict between Russia and Ukraine has continued for over seven years now and has cost thousands of lives.

The conflict between the two countries started in 2014 after Russia seized the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. 

The conflict later extended to Ukraine’s east, where Moscow backs pro-Russian separatists at the Donbas region. 

Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy also said that his country is ready to be a part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). 

“Ukraine has been ready for a long time,” said Zelenskiy.
