At a time when the Taliban has barred girls from schools after taking over Afghanistan, a little girl’s speech in a video demanding school education has gone viral.

“I am from a new generation, I was not born to just eat, sleep and stay at home. I want to go to school,” the girl is heard saying in a video.

The education ministry of the Taliban-ruled Afghanistan said the boys’ secondary schools would reopen soon but the ministry did not make any mention about the girls.

The Afghan girl in the video got everyone talking on the internet as she boldly gave a speech demanding that she should be allowed to continue her education, challenging the Taliban.

In the video, the girl is heard fearlessly asking the Taliban leaders as to who they are to take away the right and opportunity from them when both men and women are equal before ‘Allah’.

The video clip went viral after Afghan journalist Bilal Sarwary shared it on Twitter.

Sarwary, while lauding the young girl for her bravery, shared the powerful message with the people across the world praising her for her bold speech.

The girl argued: “I am from a new generation, I was not born to just eat, sleep and stay at home. I want to go to school.”

She asserted that she wants to work for the development of the country.

She added: “If any girl in Afghanistan doesn’t get education, so how will our next generation be well-mannered.”

In her speech, the girl highlighting the importance of education.

“If we don’t get education, we will not have any value in this world,” she added.

The interim mayor of Kabul asked many female city employees to stay back home, leading to a large number of women taking to the streets in protest.
