Farmers protesting the new farm laws have announced a 4-hour ‘rail roko’ protest on across the Country on February 18.

The a four-hour blockade of trains across the country on February 18 is a part of the strategy of the protesting farmers to intensify their agitation against the three new farm laws.

“There will be a ‘rail roko’ across the country from 12 pm to 4 pm on February 18,” the SKM said.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), which is spearheading the protest, has also announced that collection at toll plazas in Rajasthan will not be allowed on February 12 (Friday).

The SKM in a statement announced its new set of strategy to intensify their protest against the new farm laws.

The SKM announced that a candlelight march would be organised across the Country to remember the Pulwama attack martyrs.

“On February 14, a candlelight and torch march shall be undertaken across the country to remember the sacrifice of the martyred soldiers in the Pulwama attack,” SKM said.

“The most important decision that we took at the meeting held today was to remember the Pulwama martyrs for the sake of the departed souls. There will be candle marches at our villages and other places, wherever it is possible, from 7-8 pm on February 14 to show the country that the real malik are the jawans and kisans,” Vikas Sisar, Haryana president of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangharsh Samiti said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reiterated in the Parliament that the Centre was ready to discuss the issue.
