In Punjab, 26 inmates of Ludhiana Central Jail tested positive for COVID-19, officials said on Sunday.

“The positive patients were asymptomatic,” the officials added.

The inmates have been kept in a separate barrack of the jail.

Moreover,  32 more inmates have been shifted from Borstal Jail, a special jail for COVID-19 patients, after they tested negative to the Central Jail.

Jail Superintendent Rajiv Arora informed that 26 of them when retested, tested positive.
