2 packages of frozen fish from India have been tested positive for coronavirus in China.

The two frozen fish packages, which were imported by China from India have tested positive for coronavirus on Saturday at Shenyang in China’s Liaoning Province.

This has been claimed by Global Times, a China State-affiliated media.

Global Times has further informed that the packages were tested positive before the fishes entered local markets in the Country.

It said that authorities in Shenyang have launched epidemiologist investigation into the matter.

“Two packages of frozen fish imported from #India tested positive for the #coronavirus on Saturday in Shenyang, NE China’s Liaoning Province. Local authorities have launched epidemiologist investigation. None of the fish has entered local market,” claimed Global Times.

This incident of fishes from India having tested positive for coronavirus has raised apprehensions in India.

Earlier in November, three imported frozen food packaging samples tested positive for COVID-19 in Wuhan.

The Wuhan health commission informed that two of the three samples were taken from frozen Brazilian beef stored in a refrigerated warehouse.

The third sample was taken from frozen Basa fish from Vietnam in another warehouse.
