Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 4 pm on Tuesday.

This will be the fifth to the nation by the Prime Minister since March 19.

The announcement was made by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on its Twitter handle on Monday.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation at 4 PM tomorrow (Tuesday),” the PMO tweeted.

In his address to the nation, Prime Minister Modi is likely to express his concern over the prevailing tensions between India and China following an ongoing stand-off at Ladakh’s Galwan valley.

Amid border tension along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, the Indian government in an unprecedented step on Monday decided to ban at least 59 Chinese apps including TikTok.

The official order states that decision has been taken as these apps are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order.

Ahead of the PM’s address, the Union Home Ministry issued new guidelines for Unlock 2 to open up of more activities in areas outside the Containment Zones.

The new guidelines will come into effect from July 1, 2020 the process of phased re-opening of activities has been extended further.

The Prime Minister on Sunday addressed the nation through his radio show, Mann Ki Baat, in which he said India has given a befitting response to China on Ladakh issue.

Modi praised the army for showing their valour and fighting against the Chinese troops in Galwan Valley.

In his Mann Ki Baat, Modi said: “We will buy local and be vocal for local and this will help India become stronger.”
