Two Sikkimese women referees have successfully passed the All India Football Federation Category-2 Referee’s examination. Reshmi Chettri and Phurkit Lhamu Bhutia are now the full fledged national level referee recognised by All India Football Federation & Asian Football Confederation.

Reshmi Chettri hails from Pangthang in East Sikkim and is a government employee, while Phurkit Lhamu Bhutia is from Bhusuk in East Sikkim and is presently working in a private school in Gujarat.

Both referees have attended FIFA Member Association Course at New Delhi from November 17 to 21 in year 2014 and had succeeded in passing the course and qualified to attend 2nd round of FIFA MA Course held from September 10 to 16 in 2015 at New Delhi. They also attended Project Future India from December 23 to 25 in 2014 at Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat.

Sikkim Football Association president, Menla Ethenpa congratulated both of them for their achievement.
