Dibrugarh Railway Police on Thursday arrested six persons including two railway engineers for their alleged involvement in unlawful processing of railway properties.

Two senior section engineers of electrical division in Dibrugarh railway workshop, Partha Pratim Doley and Indrajeet Doley (posted at Banipur crossing depot), contractor Manoj Gogoi, truck owner Durlav Gogoi, businessmen Sunil Harlalka and Vishal Harlalka were arrested by the RPF for allegedly involved in stealing and unlawfully processing 30 numbers of fresh heavy duty batteries.

The accused are being interrogated by RPF. Dibrugarh RPF has registered a case (no. 6/18) under section 3(a) RP (UP) Act. According to sources, the main accused Akhtar Hussain is absconding.
