Imphal: Two occupants of an Alto car died on the spot while another one sustained injuries when the vehicle they were travelling with had a head-on collision with a Tata winger at a location near the Lairenkabi Oil Pump under the Lamsang police station in Imphal West district on Sunday night, the police said on Monday.
The Alto car plying towards Imphal had a head-on collision with the Tata winger heading towards Phayeng village at around 8 pm on Sunday.
The occupants of the Alto car later identified as one Khaidem Somorjit (54), son of late Tomchou of Takyel Kolom Leikai, and Singam Amumacha (55), son of late Dhaja of Sanjenbam Maning Leikai, died on the spot while another occupant Laitonjam Sanathoi (35), son of Nageshwar of Sanjenbam Maning Leikai sustained injury.
He was immediately rushed to the RIMS hospital for medical treatment.
Police said that a case in this regard has been registered.
