The Assam Rifles apprehended two persons with arms from different locations in Nagaland.
In two separate releases on Monday, the Assam Rifles said its Jalukie battalion apprehended one person – Seithang (40) of Athibung village under Peren district at Athibung bridge along with one point 22mm pistol and a magazine on July 18.
The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Athibung police.
The Kiphire battalion of Assam Rifles, during a search operation conducted at a mobile vehicle check post at Iron Bridge (Phelungre) near Kiphire DC ground on July 20, intercepted a blue colour Alto car (WB-06H-0161) and apprehended Vitoka Sumi (25) of Thazuvi village under Kiphire district along with one point 32mm pistol, a magazine and three live rounds.
The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Kiphire police, the release said.
