A constable of Tripura State Rifles committed suicide on Tuesday morning. The constable has been identified as Sanjib Das. Das was constable of 2nd TSR of Kamantilla camp near NIT under Jirania.
He committed suicide with his service rifle on Tuesday morning at around 6.15. He hails from Kailasahar. Senior police officials including the SP West Ajit Pratap Singh rushed to the spot.
Talking to Northeast Now, the SP West said, “It seems it is a case of suicide and investigation is on.”
The body has been sent to the morgue of GB hospital for autopsy.
