As a part of the week-long programme started by the BSF Tripura Frontier, a five-km race ‘Run for Martyrs’ was organised at Agartala.

The run was organized to commemorate the 20th anniversary of ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ and to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War.

Deb initially paid tribute to the BSF martyrs from the state of Tripura and felicitated the family members of the brave hearts, who sacrificed their lives while guarding the nation.

The run commenced from the Vivekananda stadium and concluded at the BSF headquarters in Agartala passing through the Assam Rifles and Army area in Salbagan.

Despite rains, a large number of civilians and BSF personnel participated in the run.

A big number of participants were youths who viewed that by participating in the run they wanted to remember as well as pay tribute to those martyrs who had sacrificed their lives during Kargil War fighting the Pakistani intruders 20 years back.
