A pregnant woman, who was going to Bihar from Agartala on the Shramik Special train, delivered a baby on the train.
The Shramik Special passenger train left Agartala station for Bihar on Sunday.
A total of 1,962 passengers boarded the train.
But shortly after leaving Agartala train, the number of passengers in the train increased to 1,963 as a working mother gave birth to a child on the train.
Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath shared this information with the reporters while addressing a press conference at the Civil Secretariat on Monday.

Minister Nath said: “Today another train with 1,236 passengers arrived in Agartala from Chennai.”
Saying that one of the women was in contact with high risk people, Nath said: “After receiving the information from the state Intelligence Burro (IB), the woman was taken to the quarantine centre at Sipard after she de-boarded the train at Agartala station.”
“Samples of all those who came with her were taken for COVID19 test. Today, 775 samples have been collected,” the minister informed.
A total of 3,564 COVID19 tests per million have been conducted in Tripura.
“The number of tests is gradually increasing in the state,” said the minister.
The minister informed that 162 people from Tripura, who are staying outside the country, now want to return to the state.
“Talks are going on to bring them back to the state,” the minister said.
An expert team, which arrived in Tripura pn Monday, went to Kamalpur to find the source of the COVID19 among the BSF personnel.
“Tomorrow, the team will go to the Karina camp in Gandachara,” the minister said.
Three COVID19 patients were discharged from hospital on Monday after their recovery..
Right now, a total of 5 patients are undergoing treatment in the GB treatment care.
With a total of 87 patients discharged from the hospitals after their recovery, currently, the state has 80 active cases while 2 cases migrated from the state.
To ensure proper home quarantine, Tripura government has decided to form Corona Monitoring Awareness Committees at the Panchayat level and the chief minister will announce everything in details, said law minister Nath.
This committee basically will help the administration to monitor the home quarantined people, he added.
