West Tripura police on Wednesday arrested one woman from Ballavpur village for allegedly trying to kill her own son.
“Today morning we were informed that last night one Mamamta Bhoumik of Ballavpur village attacked her son and tried to kill him with a sharp weapon,” said Siddhartha Kar, the officer-in-charge of Amtali Police Station.
“We have arrested her,” Kar added.
Police said that her son- Paranji Bhowmik- was seriously injured and has been hospitalised for treatment.
“Neighbours said that the fight took place due to some family dispute,” Police added.
A case has been registered with the Amtali Police Station against Mamata Bhowmik.
