It was a show strength of the TIPRA and IPFT at Khumulwng in Tripura as both the parties came together to address a mega public rally for the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) and BJP’s ally in State Government – the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) recently forged an alliance for the upcoming elections to TTAADC.

Speaking at the public rally at Khumulwng, TIPRA chairperson Pradyot Deb Barman said that the Thancha (unity) among the leaders of the indigenous people would help them putting their views in the Centre like never before.

“Now is the time that we unite as a community, we unite as a race, we unite as a TIPRASA. Because for 70 years you have subjugated US. We are second class to none, and we will not allow you to rule US nor trample our Hope. We will reclaim Our glory. Because this is TIPRA,” roared Pradyot Deb Barman.

Pradyot Deb Barman said that TIPRA and its allies will settle for nothing less than ‘Greater Tipraland’.

“We will not compromise for anything lesser than ‘Greater Tipraland’,” Deb Barman said.

Meanwhile, IPFT president and Tripura Minister NC Debbbarma said his party would decide on alliance with the BJP after the TTAADC elections.
