AGARTALA: In a significant development, two TIPRA MLAs, Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma, took the oath as ministers, marking their induction into the Tripura cabinet.

The swearing-in ceremony, officiated by Tripura governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan in Agartala, formalized their entry into key governmental positions.

Prior to the oath-taking, Animesh Debbarma resigned from his role as the leader of the opposition in the state, tendering his resignation to Tripura legislative assembly speaker Biswabandhu Sen.

Following the ceremony, Animesh reiterated his dedication to addressing the concerns of the general populace in Tripura and underscored the party’s unwavering demand for “Greater Tipraland”.

Acknowledging the challenges ahead as first-time ministers, both Animesh and Brishaketu expressed their commitment to resolving issues such as food security, infrastructure, and water supply affecting the public in Tripura.

While reaffirming the party’s aspiration for “Greater Tipraland”, Animesh emphasized that its realization would require time and be contingent upon the party’s decisions.

Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha, commenting on the new ministerial appointments, assured that the allocation of specific departments to Animesh and Brishaketu would be announced shortly.

CM Saha highlighted the collaborative efforts of tribal and non-tribal members in striving for the progress and welfare of Tripura.
