Two persons were killed in a road accident on the Agartala to Dharmanagar road in Tripura at Ambasa in Dhalai district on Friday morning.
The two deceased have been identified as 16-year-old student Riya Namashudra and a construction labourer Jiban Debnath- a resident of Chandrai Chara area of Amabasa.
The two were killed when a fast-moving truck hit them after it lost control.
Eyewitnesses said that a truck, which was coming towards Agartala from Dharmanagar, had a head-on collision with a bike and as a result of which the bike rider- Jiban Debnath- died on the spot.
The truck lost control and hit Riya- who was on her way to her coaching classes.
She was immediately rushed to the Kulai Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The truck driver fled from the scene after the accident and angry people blocked the road for a few hours.
