Circulating a total of 29 guidelines for the forthcoming Durga Puja, the Tripura government on Friday said that night curfew will be strictly imposed during the festive season.

Among the 29 guidelines, 25 are specifically for the Durga Puja organisers and 4 for the public in general.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb earlier held a meeting with various Durga Puja organising committees, where the CM gave a patient hearing to the organisers’ views.

As per the guidelines issued, the Durga Puja organisers cannot visit any household seeking donations and they have to collect through the various online transaction platforms only.

The government further notified that the maximum height of the Durga idol cannot exceed more than 10 feet.

The puja committees cannot allow narrow entry and exit points and the pandals should be made in such a way that the idol can be seen from a distance.

No cultural program can be organized during Puja, the notification added.

Extra lighting will have to be avoided, the notification further stated.

“Thermal screening should be arranged in front of the pandals and if necessary, a large TV or LED screening should be arranged so that people can see the idol from a distance,” the notification added.

Arrangements of Puja feast, prize distribution should be stopped and not more than 30 people should go for idol immersion, the notification added.
