Three NLFT (BM) militants on Thursday surrendered before Tripura police in Agartala.

The three militants identified as Rupadhan Debbarma alias Ruphai, 30, Amush Tripura alias Sengkhari, 32, and Dilip Debbarma alias Momphal, 43, surrendered at Tripura police Special Branch headquarters in Agartala, police said.

While Rupadhan is a resident of Tufaniamura under Takarjala police station in Sepahijala district, Amush hails from Sindhukpathar under Manu Bazar police station in South Tripura district, said an official.

Dilip is a resident of Bangshi Para under Mungiakami police station in Khowai district.

They deposited one pistol with 5 live rounds and extortion notices of NLFT (BM) militants.

The trio joined the proscribed outfit in 2018 and underwent training at the outfit’s bases in Myanmar and Bangladesh.

They were assigned to collect extortion money from the bordering areas of the state.
