Tripura on Monday registered 13 new COVID19 positive cases including two children taking the total to 29.

Confirming this on Monday, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kr Deb said the positive cases include 11 jawans and two kids from the Ambassa-based 138th Battalion of BSF.

With the new cases, Tripura currently has 27 active cases.

Out of the total 29 COVID19 cases registered in Tripura so far, two patients were discharged earlier after their recovery.

Chief minister Deb through his Twitter handle has urged the people of the state not to panic, but to follow the government guidelines and stay at home.

Chief minister Deb said: “Government has already arranged proper medical facilities for all the COVID-19 positive patients. Team of specialised doctors is taking proper care of the patients.”

“There is no report of any positive case among the local people of Ambassa. I pray for the speedy recovery of all the patients. Don’t panic, follow the Government guidelines. Stay Home and be safe,” he added.

Deb also said the 12 BSF personnel, who tested positive for COVID19 on Sunday, have been shifted to GB hospital on Monday for better treatment.

“All of them were asymptomatic and now under proper medication. Condition of all the patients are now stable and responding to the treatment,” Deb tweeted.

Meanwhile, Dhalai district of the state has been declared ‘red zone’.

Earlier, the district was a green zone.

But after samples of 14 BSF jawans found positive for COVID19 in Dhalai district in the last two days, the government has declared this district as ‘red zone’.

This was informed by Tripura law minister Ratan Lal Nath on Monday evening during a press conference at the State Secretariat.
