Tripura on Friday registered the highest single-day fatality as 13 patients died of Covid19 taking the toll to 495.

In the last 24 hours, Tripura reported 783 new Covid19 positive cases.

The caseload has taken the state’s COVID19 tally to 49,290 cases in the state, informed state health bulletin on Friday.

Currently, there are 6,324 active cases in Tripura and the total death toll stands at 495.

In the last 24 hours, 878 people were discharged, taking the total number of recovered Covid19 cases to 42,408.

Meanwhile, over 17% of the total population have received the first dose of Covid19 vaccine across the state so far.

State’s COVID19 tally crossed the 49,000 mark in the last 24 hours.

According to the media bulletin, 9,10,318 samples were tested up to May 28 with 49,290 samples being tested on Friday.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 11,237 were tested including 1596 RT-PCR and 9,641 Rapid Antigen Tests and 783 tested positive for the virus.

The number of daily recoveries has increased slightly.

In the last 24 hours, 878 people recovered from Covid19 infection and were released.

Currently, the Covid19 infection rate in Tripura has increased to 6.97%.

The recovery rate has increased to 86.14%.

The death rate stands at 1.01%.

The West District continues to be on the top of the list of infections, according to the health department’s media bulletin.

In the last 24 hours, 378 Covid19 cases have been reported in West district, 110 in South, 62 in Gomati, 44 in Dhalai, 38 in Sepahijala, 50 in North Tripura, 73 in Unakoti and 28 in Khowai district.
