The COVID-19 positive cases have increasing in Tripura rapidly.

As such the State Government has announced 29 containment zone across the State.

At present the State has registered 841 COVID-19 positive case.

Among them 645 are now active patients.

The situation is worst in Sepahijala District.

The total number of COVID-19 positive patients is now 330.

Dhalai has registered 199 positive cases, but among them nearly 190 has recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Education minister Ratan Lal Nath said 30 areas of different locations have been declared as containment zone as part of COVID-19 guideline.

“Sepahijala and North districts have maximum number of containment zone with eight each. In containment zones, stringent restriction has been put in place for the people to break the COVID-19 chain”, he said.

He told that, those who are living in containment areas, the administration send one month ration to those families.

Nobody can enter into the containment areas and nobody will come out from that areas.

The police picket has installed on the roads of containment areas, to check the movement.

In Dhalai district, COVID-19 situation has improved as infection new cases are not coming up in the sensitive areas.

“The number of containment zones in Dhalai district has been reduced from six to three as infection has come down drastically in three places”, he pointed out.

The state government also increased the bed numbers in Covid Care centers.

Ratan Lal Nath said, if necessary state government will open more Covid Care Center in the State.
