Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb on Tuesday said it would be a proud moment for India as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to be presented with the highest civilian honour of UAE.

The highest civilian honour of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ‘Order of Zayed’ will be conferred on Modi during his visit to UAE on August 23 & 24.

Modi, who recently visited Bhutan, will also tour Bahrain on August 24 & 25.

In Bahrain, the PM will launch renovation of a temple of Shreenathji.

Tripura Chief Minister Deb stated on his official Twitter handle, “Yet another proud moment for India PM Shri @narendramodi ji will receive highest civilian honour of United Arab Emirates, ‘Order of Zayed’.”

“PM Shri @narendramodi ji will be visiting UAE beginning 23 of this month, during the visit PM Modi will receive the award,” Deb tweeted.

The ‘Order of Zayed’ has been named after UAE’s founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The honour for Modi was conferred earlier in April, 2019 in recognition of his distinguished leadership for giving a boost to bilateral relations between the two countries.

The award assumes special significance as it has been conferred on Modi on the birth centenary year of the founding father of UAE.

During his visit, Modi will hold talks with the crown prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister, who will leave for Bahrain on August 24, will also hold talks with his Bahrain counterpart Prince Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
