The Coronavirus outbreak has caused irreparable damage across the country. Tripura too is fighting against the virus.  

“It is not the right time yet to evaluate how much success has been achieved,” said Tripura Law minister Ratan Lal Nath. 

Nath said that while the COVID-19 death rate in Tripura at present is lower than 25 other Indian states, the State’s rate of infection is lower than 26 states. 

He also said that Tripura holds the top position in regards to vaccination.

Ratan Lal Nath said that out of the total population in Tripura, over 5 lakh people have taken both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine.  

He added that 13,26,980 people in Tripura received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, which is 51 percent of the total population.  

On the other hand, 5,71,687 people got the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Tripura.  

As of now, 2,35,033 people aged between 18 to 44 years have already been vaccinated, Nath said.
