The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has accused the BJP-led Tripura government of unleashing “state-sponsored terror” on the people. 

Top TMC leaders in West Bengal have accused the Biplab Deb-led Tripura government of trying to stop the emergence of TMC as a major political force in the state. 

Top TMC leader and West Bengal education minister – Bratya Basu said: “People are crying and looking for shelter and support. They are facing state-sponsored terror in Tripura.” 

The TMC has also brought in their “Khela Hobe” slogan in Tripura to grab the attention and emotions of the people of the state ahead of Assembly elections due in 2023.

The TMC leaders further informed that the party will celebrate “Khela Hobe Diwas” on Monday. 

The TMC leaders also raised the issue of attack on the party’s general secretary Abhishek Banerjee during his visit to Tripura recently. 

“Why are you worrying if people in Tripura are with the BJP-led government in the state? The Trinamool didn’t object to the frequent visits by the PM, the Union home minister and a whole lot of Union ministers when they made a beeline for Bengal ahead of the assembly polls,” said TMC leader Bratya Basu. 

The TMC further accused the Tripura government of attacking women in the state.
