The Tiprasa Indigenous People’s regional Alliance (TIPRA) will contest the upcoming civic bodies elections in Tripura.

This was announced by TIPRA chairman Pradyot Debbarma on Wednesday morning.

This will be for the first time that a regional party in Tripura will be contesting in urban bodies elections in the state.

Notably, TIPRA has is stronghold in rural tribal belt of Tripura.

“First time a regional party TIPRA is fighting elections in urban areas in the history of Tripura – And we are here to win! Times are changing,” said TIPRA chairman Pradyot Debbarma.

The election to 20 urban local bodies, including Agartala Municipal Corporation in Tripura will be held on November 25.

Counting will be held on November 28, which will commence at 8 am.
