President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Satyadev Narayan Arya as the Governor of Tripura and Hari Babu Kambhapati as the Governor of Mizoram.

Arya is the 19th Governor of Tripura.

Satyadev Narayan Arya will replace Ramesh Bais as the Tripura Governor, who has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand.

Ramesh Bais assumed office as Tripura Governor on July 29, 2019 while Satyadev Narayan Arya was serving as the Governor of Haryana since August 25, 2018.

President Kovind has appointed new Governors for a total of 8 states.

Union minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot has been appointed as the Governor of Karnataka.

While Hari Babu Kambhapati has been appointed as the Governor of Mizoram. the President has appointed Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel as the Governor of Madhya Pradesh while Rajendran Vishwanath Arlekar has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Hari Babu Kambhampati is a former president of Andhra Pradesh BJP and a former Vishakapatnam MP.

PS Sreedharan Pillai, who was serving as the Governor of Mizoram, has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Goa.

Bandaru Dattatreya has been appointed as the Governor of Haryana.

Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has extended warm wishes to SN Arya.

Tripura chief minister Deb tweeted: “With his wise and able guidance, the State Government shall continue to strive for ensuring the development and prosperity of 37 lakh people of the state.”
