One more person has died of COVID19 infection in Tripura while 21 other new positive cases have been registered in the state, the state health department said on Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours, 21 more people have been infected by COVID19 in the state, the COVID19 bulletin released by the state health department said.

This was the highest number of single-day infection this year.

In the last seven days of this month, a total of 72 people have been infected by COVID19.

Currently, there are a total of 87 active COVID19 cases in Tripura.

On this day last year, there was only one case of Covid19 in Tripura.

In the morning on Wednesday, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb tweeted that he was infected by Coronavirus.

So far, 33,575 people have been affected by COVID19 in Tripura while 33,072 people have recovered from the disease.

Tripura is the second-most affected state in the Northeast in terms of COVID19 positive case.

A total of 390 people have died of COVID19 infection in Tripura.

The mortality rate of Tripura is 1.16%, which is the highest in the Northeast.

A total of 3 persons recovered from the disease on Wednesday.
