The Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Tripura has stated that if the party comes to power in the state, it will make a tribal leader, chief minister of the state.
This was informed exclusively to this correspondent by Tripura TMC president – Ashish Lal Singh on Sunday.
Singh said: “We are currently preparing ground by making out grassroot strong for the Assembly elections in Tripura in 2023.”
Meanwhile, the Tripura TMC president also informed that plans of the TMC to induct top leaders from the BJP and the CPI-M in Tripura, has been postponed till an appropriate time.

Speaking to this correspondent, Tripura TMC president – Ashish Lal Singh said that the party’s high command in Kolkata is against inducting someone who had earlier tarnished the image of the TMC.
Singh said: “The TMC has put on hold the its plans of inducting big leaders from the BJP and the CPI-M, as the party’s high command is scrutinising every name and is against inducting someone, who had earlier tarnished the image of the TMC.”
“We don’t want to rush things as there is still a lot of time for the Assembly elections,” Tripura TMC president – Ashish Lal Singh.
Earlier, Ashish Lal Singh, last month, had informed this correspondent that around 13 top BJP leaders and 4 CPI-M leaders were in talks with the TMC.
