Former Tripura Chief Minister and polit bureau of the CPI-M has launched an all-out attack on the ruling BJP in the State.
Manik Sarkar has accused the BJP of preventing CPI-M workers in the State from helping people, who are in distress due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Manik Sarkar specifically mentioned the incident where a CPI-M worker was allegedly beaten up by BJP activists at Kailashahar in Tripura’s Unakoti district while he was returning home after sanitizing a local market.
The CPI-M worker was also allegedly forced to chant “Jai Sree Ram” by the BJP workers.

“Had Sree Ram been alive now, he would have hanged himself after seeing such kind of behaviour among his followers,” Manik Sarkar said.
Former Tripura CM Manik Sarkar was speaking at a blood donation camp organized by SFI and DYFI Ramnagar Anchal Committee at Chhatra-Yuva Bhavan in Agartala.
Slamming the BJP-Government in the State, the former Tripura Chief Minister said that such inhumane acts were signs of fear, isolation and weakness of the ruling party.
Manik Sarkar said that workers of the Left parties are being attacked while they are trying to keep the people of the State safe during COVID times.

“The workers of the Left parties are facing one attack after another that too when they are working for the common people,” said Manik Sarkar.
“The ruling party and the head of the State government are yet to react on the incident in Kailashahar,” Sarkar added.
Sarkar alleged the ruling party cadres and police prevented youth volunteers of CPI-M in several locations of Agartala from distributing food and household items to the distressed families.
