With COVID-19 third wave hitting Tripura along with rest of the country, the state government has introduced and imposed further restrictions. 

The Tripura government has directed closure of all multiplexes, shopping malls, cinema halls, entertainment parks, picnic spots and exhibitions from Thursday. 

The decision was taken by the Tripura government following rapid surge in COVID-19 cases in the state. 

The decision of the Tripura government to impose more restrictions was informed by state minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Wednesday.

Night curfew timings in Tripura have also been increased from 8pm till 5 in the morning next day till January 31. 

Moreover, attendance in offices in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas has been reduced to 50 percent. 

In the last 10 days, Tripura has logged over 8000 cases and at least 14 COVID-19 deaths. 

However, not a single Omicron case has been detected in Tripura thus far, Chowdhury informed.
