Following the surge in COVID19 positive cases, the Assam-Tripura border is being sealed to combat the entry of any person on both the side.

Reportedly, Additional CS to Tripura SK Rakesh visited the Churraebari gate after a truck driver was found COVID-19 positive.

As per standard operating procedure of the Tripura government, all drivers and helpers entering the state are required to undergo a mandatory Covid-19 test at Churaibari on the Assam-Tripura border.

It may be mentioned here that the COVID-19 affected truck driver allegedly went to Karimganj by escaping quarantine which has further given panic among the locals following which the border was also sealed.

Other than goods loaded truck nothing can enter Tripura, as per the order.

Additional CS to Tripura SK Rakesh also visited other quarantine centre and monitored the situation.
