Amid rising Covid19 cases in in the second wave of the pandemic, BSF Tripura Frontier has established 12 Covid Care Centres to face the situation.
These Covid Care Centres are fully equipped with beds, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oxy-meters, sufficient medicines and PPE kits.
BSF Tripura Frontier inspector general Susanta Kumar Nath conducted an urgent meeting with the sector commanders and battalion commanders regarding the prevailing Covid19 situation and preparedness to protect the BSF personnel and the local civilians.
“BSF Tripura Frontier has established 12 Covid Care Centres fully equipped with beds, oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, oxy-meters, sufficient medicines, PPE Kits, etc.,” the Border Security Force (BSF) informed.
It has also set up more than 4,000 beds in duly partitioned quarantine centres, it said.
“Senior level medical officers and paramedics are always ready to take care of these patients,” said BSF deputy inspector general (DIG) DP Singh on Wednesday.
As per the decision of the meeting, the asymptomatic patients will be shifted to respective isolation centres and the troops with mild symptoms will be shifted to Covid Care Centres.
The troops with acute illness will be shifted to BSF’s 100-bed Dedicated Covid Health Centre and Agartala Government Medical Collage.

After the Assembly elections 2021 held in different states of the nation, more than 3,000 BSF troops of 50 companies are returning back to Tripura.
BSF said it is liaising with the civil administrations so that all the troops at the de-boarding stations itself are tested for Covid19.
Those, who are found positive for Covid19, will be segregated and kept under Covid Care Hospitals at respective locations, prepared by the battalions.
Other troops, who are found negative for Covid19, will be shifted to dedicated quarantine centers where they will be kept for 15 days, the BSF said.
Till Wednesday, more than 19,300 BSF troops have received the first dose of Covid19 vaccine and more than 15,800 troops have taken the 2nd dose, the BSF said in a press statement.
