Another doctor has tested positive for COVID19 in Tripura.
The doctor, who tested positive on Sunday night, is posted in a primary hospital in Khowai district.
He fell ill four-five days back.
The doctor was suffering from breathing problems.
The doctor was admitted to the Khowai district hospital after he complained of breathing problem and on Sunday night, he tested positive for COVID19.
On Monday, the doctor was brought to Agartala for treatment.
He has been admitted to GBP Hospital in Agartala for treatment.
This was confirmed by an official at the Khowai District Hospital.
The Khowai District Hospital was sanitized on Monday.
“The primary hospital where the doctor used to see patients will also be sanitized. All the staff members of Khowai District Hospital will undergo COVID19 test on the day after tomorrow,” the district hospital sources said.
Three staff members of Khowai District Hospital have tested COVID19 positive till now.
One woman, who was admitted to the hospital last week, tested positive earlier.
Later, the woman’s son was also found positive for COVID19.
“So far five persons from Khowai District Hospital have tested positive,” said MLA Nirmal Biswas.
He has demanded that the number of tests be increased and the people be made aware about the disease and the preventive measures.
One lady doctor, who was found COVID19 positive, was discharged from the hospital last week.
