De’s classmates, however, said that there is more to his death than suicide as he seemed completely normal.

“There was nothing unusual in Adarsh’s behaviour on Monday and he attended all his classes,” said a fellow student.

However, he was not seen by anyone after his classes.

A few students knocked on his door in the morning but failed to get any response.

Eventually, they broke open the door to find him hanging in his room.

23-year-old Adarsh was a meritorious student and had topped in the higher secondary exams from Belonia English Medium School, sources said.

He was also performing well in his medical studies.

Sources in the GBP hospital confirmed finding De’s body in his hostel room, but did not ascertain the cause of the suicide.

The medical college authorities had informed his parents, who were on their way to Agartala.
