Agartala: The Tipra Motha Party in Tripura is gearing up for the upcoming Panchayat Elections. The party president has directed Block Presidents to finalize their lists of contesting seats and potential candidates.

The Panchayat election is expected to be held in the first week of August this year.

In a notice, Tipra Motha President B K Hrangkhawl informed all Block Presidents that, following directives from the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Tipra Motha Party, they must convene block-level meetings immediately.

These meetings will discuss and finalize the seats to be contested and the names of probable candidates for the Panchayat Election 2024.

Hrangkhawl emphasized that the list must be finalized in consultation with local elected representatives (MLAs or MDCs) or CWC members.

“The final list of contesting seats and names of probable candidates must be submitted to Mevar Kumar Jamatia and Rajeshwar Debbarma, Members of the Central Working Committee (CWC), by July 4, 2024 (Thursday). This deadline is non-negotiable to ensure timely processing and coordination for the forthcoming election,” he stated.

Earlier, on Sunday, former party chairman Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma met with all MLAs and Members of District Councils.

In a voice message, Pradyot reiterated that the party will contest the upcoming Panchayat elections and urged workers to identify honest candidates.
