In a major breakthrough, the Ambassa police on Saturday seized a huge quantity of cough syrup bottles from a Maruti car at Jewolchara area on National Highway 8 in Tripura.
The Ambassa Police under the initiative of the OC Himadra Sarkar intercepted the car carrying huge quantity of cough syrup bottles. Although police failed to arrest the driver of the vehicle Miton Sarkar but seized 1109 bottles of cough syrup.
The incident took place when Ambassa police was doing regular patrolling on NH-8 and saw a Maruti car coming from the opposite direction without number plate. This has raised suspicion in the minds of the police who tried to stop the vehicle. The driver parked the car and ran away. Further investigating into the case is on.
