Tripura: Country liquor factory destroyed by police

Tripura police on Wednesday destroyed an illegal country liquor factory at Sonthoil Village located 15 km from Kailsahar police station.

A team of Tripura police led by Kailasahar SDPO Buddha Debbarma and Additional SP Biplab Deb raided the huge country liquor factory located at Sonthoil Village 15 km from the Kailsahar Police station on Wednesday.

Locals alleged that a woman identified as Uma Devi has been running this business. According to the people Uma Devi has been selling at least 1,000 litres of country liquor everyday.

However based on the information provided, Kailasahar Police raided the house of Uma Devi and destroyed at least 5,000 litres of alcohol from a nearby godown. Uma Devi is reportedly absconding.
