Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday had a day-long tour in Dhanpur Constituency from which former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has been uninterruptedly winning for five terms.

Accompanied by the State Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries of various departments and the District Magistrate of Sepahijala district, the Tripura CM during his visit interacted with the local villagers and gave a patient hearing to their problems.

The villagers complained about poor roads, partisan, poverty, unavailable of drinking water and pathetic condition of schools in the constituency.

Chief Minister Deb termed the previous government “anti-people” and held it responsible for the sufferings of the people.

Explaining the various Central schemes for the development of the rural areas, the CM said, “If the Manik Sarkar government had implemented the Central schemes then the situation of the people would not have become so bad.”

Later, Chief Minister Deb had a high-level discussion with Chief Secretary Sanjiv Ranjan, Director General of Police AK Shukla, Inspector General of Border Security Force HK Lohia on early completion of remaining 9.1 km barbed wire fencing in Sonamura Sub-division with Bangladesh at the Sonamura Dak Banglow.

Deb on his Twitter handle on Tuesday stated, “Attending a review meeting with top Police & BSF official regarding early completion of remaining 9.1 km barbed wire fencing in Sonamura subdivision with Bangladesh at the Sonamura Dak bungalow. CS Sanjeev Ranjan,DGP AK Shukla & IG BSF HK Lohiha were present with senior officials.”
