The CEO further said that that the State has always a tradition of high turnout in the election – be it Assembly or Lok Sabha and this must be continued in the election to East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency.

The CEO was addressing the media even as the East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency goes to polling on April 23.

The CEO said additional central para military forces have already arrived here to perform election related duty and there will be enough security at polling booths and its vicinity.

Out of total polling booths of East Tripura LS seat, central forces would be deployed for 85 polling stations to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections, he said adding that prohibitory order (Section 144) has already been imposed in the polling booths as part of precautionary measures.

Tarinikanta urged the voters to go for voting without any fear and threats there would be enough security coverage to keep the potential trouble makers at bay.

Reports said district election officers of six districts and AROs have already held meeting to finalize preparation for polling on April 23. Apart from general observers, there will be four security observers to monitor the security situation in the poll-bound areas.
