A three-day training programme on development planning, budgeting and accountability for the officials of Autonomous District Councils (ADCs) of North Eastern Region organised jointly by the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), NERC, Guwahati and Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Kokrajhar, got underway in Kokrajhar from Wednesday.

The training programme is being held at the conference hall of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Secretariat in Kokrajhar.

The training programme has been participated by the officials and members of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) and Hmar Autonomous District Council.

The training programme was inaugurated by the BTC Principal Secretary Biren Chandra Phukan.

The inaugural programme was attended among others by NIRDPR official Dr MK Shrivastava as resource person.

In his inaugural speech, Principal Secretary Phukan informed that during the programme various subjects like Sectoral and Integrated Planning for ADC in the new era of planning and funding between Autonomous District Councils between Centre and State government; challenges, opportunities and the way forward, budgeting; concept, types and mythology for ADC, accountability and transparency mechanism at ADC etc. will be discussed.
