West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh on Sunday said that the government will send back one crore Bangladeshi Muslims who are living illegally in the state.
Addressing a rally in the North 24 Parganas district, Ghosh claimed that those who are protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019 are ‘anti-Bengali’.
“Those who are opposing the CAA are either anti-India or anti-Bengali. They are against the idea of India that is why they are opposing Hindu refugees getting citizenship,” he added.
The BJP chief also claimed that the illegal Bangladeshi Muslims are “thriving” on the government’s Rs 2 per kg subsidized rice.

According to Ghosh, they are also involved in arsons across the state.
Ghosh’s new remark came just days after he invited trouble after claiming that people protesting against CAA must be shot and charged by batons.
He had also claimed that the BJP-led governments in Assam and Uttar Pradesh shot the protesters down like ‘dogs’ for vandalizing property, and demanded a similar kind of treatment in Bengal.
However, Ghosh on Sunday further said that such people “will never be spared”.
“Those who vandalize public property in the state should be shot dead. I said it in a speech and the opposition created a lot of ruckus about it. I will repeat the same thing that those who vandalize public property should be shot dead. Nobody will be spared,” he added.
Ghosh also said that he does regret in being branded communal for supporting the cause of Hindu refugees, who had to run for their life after being religiously persecuted.
He also claimed that he is confident that the saffron party will be able to form the next government in West Bengal.
