Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu during the inauguration of T20 Champions League in Tawang on Saturday.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday inaugurated the Tawang T20 Champions League, the district level cricket tournament here at a high altitude stadium.

15 teams from the district including a team from the Indian Army are participating in the tournament organized by the Tawang Sports Association.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chief Minister extended his best wishes to all the participating teams.

Appreciating the participation of the Indian Army in the tournament, he said that such engagement will increase bonhomie between Army and civilians.

The Chief Minister appealed the organisers to avail benefits from various schemes supported by the sports.

Tawang being high altitude area and difficult for the grass to grow here, he assured support for artificial green turf for the cricket ground and appealed the people to take good care of it.

The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Tawang for winning the Best Kayakalp District Hospital of the State and also congratulated CHC Kimin for being adjudged the Best Kayakalp CHC and CHC Rupa for the commendation award.

He said the award is result of hard work and the will of the hospital officials to provide best health care service to the people.

The T20 tournament is sponsored by the Chief Minister, RWD Parliamentary Secretary Jambey Tashi and Tawang MLA Tsering Tashi.
